On November 28, 2023, the groundbreaking ceremony for the 5,000 tons/day open-pit to underground mining project of Jiangxi Copper Group Yinshan Mining Co., Ltd. was held at Yinshan Mining Company.
Yinshan Mining Co., Ltd. was established on July 1, 2003. Its business scope includes the production and sales of non-ferrous metals, rare and precious metals, non-metallic mineral products and extended products; the production and sales of building materials; and the production and sales of related process equipment and spare parts. Production and sales; contracting of construction projects; trade of copper, lead, zinc, sulfur mineral products and related ancillary mineral products.
The 5,000 tons/day open-pit to underground mining project is a pragmatic move based on the development status of Yinshan Mining Company, and it is also a long-term strategy for the future. As the mining depth of Yinshan Copper Mine decreases, the madness and hardship will be long-term. Trend, the Platts hardness of ore is increasing year by year, low chromium grinding balls are used as grinding media, the grinding effect is not well understood, and the quality of the grinding does not meet the requirements of the mineral processing process, which has a certain impact on the production of Yinshan Copper.
In order to cope with the impact of rising ore hardness on production, Yinshan Copper Mineral Processing Plant applied high chromium grinding balls to the 7# ball mill in 2014. The grinding unit consumption was reduced by about 25%, and the grinding efficiency was improved. However, due to the production capacity limit of Canhu Foundry's high chromium casting balls at that time, it was only promoted to the 1# ball mill (May 2020) and 9# ball mill (September 2021). Currently, Canhu Foundry has the second chromium ball production line It has also been put into production, so the Yinshan Copper Mineral Processing Plant and Dashan Mineral Processing Plant of Jiangxi Copper Group have fully used high-chromium main balls.
